For Dog Lovers, Valentine’s Day Is Just Another Excuse to Spoil Them

We can see why this happens. The unconditional love you receive from your dog is about the best there is, and why not take special pains to show them you feel the same? Even if the dog is oblivious to hoopla and red hearts, she’ll be able to tell you’re excited and eager to give whatever gift it is you’re offering, and respond in kind with lots of licking and joyful tail wagging.

Just don’t give your dog chocolates! Chocolate is harmful to a dog’s digestive system. A little dried jerky or special baked treats would surely be appreciated though.

It’s not just about the gifts, either. In February 2015 Big Heart Pet Brands surveyed over 3000 pet owners nationwide and found that at least 20% of all Americans would rather spend time with their dog on Valentine’s Day than go on a date with a human. Among unmarried women the number was a whopping 39%. Gents – take notice!
