Doctors Had Lost Hope When 62-Year-Old Was In Deep Coma, Then His Dog Sat On His Hospital Bed

The term ‘man’s best friend’ isn’t just a term of endearment for our dogs — it’s a true statement. They are our best friends, our companions, and our family. When one man was in a coma, his dog was the one to pull him through.

A man named Andy was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2012; it was a long hard road but he was able to pull through and survive. This, however, didn’t leave him with a clean bill of health.

Andy’s immune system was extremely compromised and susceptible to illness after going through cancer treatment. He ended up contracting pneumonia this past winter.

Due to his immune system issues, the pneumonia was extremely severe. Andy needed to be rushed to the hospital immediately if he was going to survive.

His condition continued deteriorating by the second; the hospital decided they needed to put him in a medically induced coma. His family was terrified they were going to lose him.

Doctors said that the coma was his best chance at survival.

Estelle, Andy’s wife, was going to do anything to keep her husband alive so, of course, she understood the necessity of the coma. They informed her it could last for up to a week.
