A Man Once Forced To Abandon His Dog Is Reunited!

Sometimes life doesn’t always go the way you want it to.  Illness, death, divorce or loss of a job can force serious, difficult changes to occur.  For one man in Independence, Missouri, the loss of his job meant his dog had to be surrendered to a local no-kill shelter.

Without his job, the man lost his home and the ability to keep and care for his beloved dog, Reese, a 3-year-old Boxer/Greyhound mix.  While the shelter did their best to find Reese a new forever home and 2 attempts at placements, the dog was still at the shelter.

But in Reeses’ case, this turned out to be a blessing!  The man’s financial situation had taken a turn for the better and was now in a position to provide a good home for his dog.  But what was the likely-hood that Reese would still be at the shelter?  Going for a long-shot, he looked up the shelter’s website and lo and behold, there was his beloved dog!

He immediately set out to reclaim his dog.  It had been a very long year of reclaiming his life and the pieces would all be back together again.

Nervous that Reese would not remember him, the man entered the shelter tentatively and inquired if he could see the dog named Reese.
